About The Barrows Firm
The Barrows Firm, P.C. officially opened its doors in 2006. The firm’s founding attorney and captain of the ship, Leslie Starr Barrows, strived to build a law practice that would provide top-notch service and keep a close-knit family feel – not only for employees and attorneys but, especially, for clients.
When I started the firm, there was just me. I was solely responsible for everything which – in hindsight – really teaches you how to effectively deal with adversity. Whether I’m working on a criminal defense matter or an adoption, the things I learned early on really set the tone for my career and the growth of the practice.
Over the years, The Barrows Firm has grown from a single attorney, single office in Colleyville, into a thriving enterprise. Today, The Barrows Firm operates in two locations in Tarrant and Denton counties. The main office is located at 500 E. Belknap Street on the eastern edge of downtown Fort Worth. The office is within walking distance of the Tarrant County Family Courts building, the Tim Curry Criminal Justice Center and the newly-built Tom Vandergriff Civil Courts building.
Our Belknap location is a place that I had my eye on for a long time. When it became available, I jumped at the chance. Its proximity to the courthouses and its old-town charm were exactly what I was looking for in our Fort Worth location.
The Barrows Firm’s reputation among its peers is undeniable. The attorneys have made a major effort to consistently stay engaged in the Fort Worth and Denton legal communities. They are highly respected and regarded by clients, attorneys and judges as stellar advocates – much to the chagrin of opposing counsel.
We have worked hard to become a standout firm, filled with standout people. Our reputation in the community is very important to us.
Attorney Leslie Barrows serves on the board of directors for the Tarrant County Bar Association and is president of the Northeast Tarrant County Bar Association. She is also a member of the Denton County Bar Association, the Tarrant County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and the Tarrant County Family Law Bar Association, among others. Attorney Bria Larson is a current member of the Mahon Inn of Courts – whose mission, like all American Inns of Court, is to improve the skills, professionalism and ethics of the bench and bar. Larson is also a member of the Tarrant County Bar Association, the Tarrant County Family Law Bar Association and the Tarrant County Young Lawyers Association.
For us, staying engaged with our peers is critical. We work with these people everyday; we see them everywhere. A healthy respect for your professional colleagues is very important in our business.
The attorneys at The Barrows Firm also work to make their community a better one. Barrows is a very motivated community servant – working with Meals on Wheels, Metroport Teen Court, Texas Lawyer for Texas Veterans and other charitable groups.
We really feel that giving back to the community is important. If we give a little, perhaps we can make a major difference in someone’s life. Even something as simple as a traffic ticket can really be a barrier for someone with trouble in their past. No drivers license means no car. No car means getting to a job is next to impossible. If we can help someone like that – so they can keep their job and be a productive member of society – then that is something we should do.
The Barrows Firm strives to be the best legal services provider it can be. For more information about the firm or its attorneys, please contact us online or call the Fort Worth office at 817-481-1583.
